"Marble" by Rebel ACA & French Monkey Wrench Review

A collaboration between Rebel ACA and French Monkey Wrench brought forth the new single and music video “Marble”, by synergizing the hip-hop and Brit Pop outfits. The two met nearly 15 years ago while one produced a funk reggae band and the other managed, funny how they’ve managed to attract each other despite their opposites. Rebel ACA is that guy who’s capable of doing anything while on the full swing. French is an inspired fixer, this two personality’s blend together in the production of this profound artwork.

“Marble” is part of the new album titled Sunday’s Cool. The occasional keyboards and beats coupled with the vocals from Rebel ACA are just profound. This is complemented by French Monkey Wrench’s keys, bass, and guitar. The album was unleashed on April via Buttercuts Records. I must admit that their sound is somewhat constituted of some hip-hop textures that take on different declines. The track was inspired by a girl that Rebel dated briefly, it turns out that she was hot and all that but beneath the surface, she was something ominous. The footage was shot in LA by Nils Davey & Arcs.

The release of this new single and music video brings the thought of when the Sunday’s Cool album will be released on the 22nd of June. The video brings out an impression of diametric opposition in the stylistic game of the two-man funk group. Above all, the group is marvelously entertaining and you can’t help but get carried away in their alluring muse. To a great extent, this can be credited to their unique ability to blend Indie vocals, funk, and hip-hop. The end result is an apex point of great artwork.
