Former “American Pimp” Turned Police Accountability Activist Andre Taylor Revisits his Roots with “Many Shades of Dre” Hip Hop Music & Video Project

Former “American Pimp” Turned Police Accountability Activist Andre Taylor Revisits his Roots with “Many Shades of Dre” Hip Hop Music & Video Project

Former “American Pimp” Turned Police Accountability Activist Andre Taylor Revisits his Roots with “Many Shades of Dre” Hip Hop Music & Video Project

Video - Andre Taylor aka Geogeous Dre, “A Day in the Life” from "Many Shades of Dre"
starring comedian Cory Holcomb, with Taylor's wife Dove and his son, Cashanovas-kp.
Seattle, WA - In what might appear to be a major contradiction of sorts, civic activist Andre Taylor is reflecting on his notoriously iconic, urban culture hustler past and bringing back his alter pimp ego, “Gorgeous Dre,” with the release of his new music and video project, “Many Shades of Dre.” Always an outspoken figure, stemming back to his feature in the Hughes Brothers cult documentary film classic, “American Pimp,” Taylor has garnered national mainstream accolades for his work and achievements on the frontline battle for police accountability, most recently concluding his appointment as a “street czar” consultant by the mayor of Seattle. “The Many Shades of Dre,” an unapologetic exploration and dive back to his roots, is a multilayered music and video compilation, marking the evolution of Taylor from the mean streets to his former high-level executive suite.

Taylor has consistently brewed widespread controversy from both the left and right, with many questioning his ability to adeptly stride the road less traveled. From his street reign as a pimp, his transformation as a civil rights contender victoriously taking on the Seattle police department, to the appointment of his city position as “street czar,” while battling and managing family loss and health issues, including a bout with Covid, Taylor continues to rise as a 21st century renaissance man and urban legend.
Married for twenty-three years, his wife, Dove, has stood by his side through it all, even sharing a kidney during a health scare when his failed. A true enigma of sorts, Taylor also boasts a son who graduated from Yale and a daughter who graduated from UCLA among his offspring!
There is a strong message in his perceived madness. His current single and video releases, “Like Me,” “Knockin’ Season” and “A Day in the Life” have amassed over six million views across social media platforms. With plans to drop a video with every track from the project, Taylor is determined to make his musical mark and reignite his street ‘cred’ and visibility.
When one is fully acquainted with the back story of Andre Taylor, it becomes clear that it takes more than salty opinions to deter him from his appointed mission to impact, enhance and save lives. With “Many Shades of Dre,” Taylor makes no excuses for his illicit past, boldly recapturing and revisiting his pimp roots. On a musical voyage akin to what supporters are calling, “The Return of the American Pimp,” Taylor makes peace with the fact that it is his maligned origins that paved the road to his rise as a venerated urban visionary.

Like Malcolm X, Andre Taylor rose from the gutter to achieve remarkable heights. His father was a pimp and his mother a prostitute. Following in their footsteps was perhaps predestined. A stint in prison saw him retiring from ‘the game’ before catapulting to pop culture fame in “American Pimp,” the groundbreaking film that laid bare the subculture of pimping and pandering.

It was the tragic murder of his brother, Che Taylor, by Seattle police in 2016, that redirected his focus to civic activism. Taylor left Los Angeles for Seattle and founded the nonprofit organization, Not This Time. He began working with other families who had also experienced police related tragic losses and by 2018 had spearheaded the triumphant passing of I-940. An unprecedented initiative, I-940 makes it easier to criminally charge police officers believed to have wrongfully used deadly force.
Taylor has worked relentlessly on a grassroots level to secure recognition and justice for Seattle’s marginalized communities. Not This Time received a city contract for a $100,000 to host a speaker series called 'Conversation with the Streets,' followed by a $150,000 contract positioning Taylor as the city’s consulting ‘street czar,’ securing his expertise to de-escalate tensions and liaison the community and Capitol Hill.

“Not many can comprehend the depth of my life mission,” cites Taylor, a man known for his gift of expression. “I can’t stop to concern myself with continual explanation. When I was in the streets as a pimp, I was public enemy number one. Yet my activism and civic service had others perceiving me as a sellout. My life journey has challenged me to be true to myself and my God, no matter what.”

“Like many successful artists, including Jay Z, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg, my evolution didn’t start pretty,” notes Taylor. “With ‘Many Shades of Dre’ there will be no more whispering and speculation about my past deeds. I’m laying my life bare, all of it. The man I was is not the man I am today, but the man I was made me the man I am today. Music has always been one of my strongest passions because of its ability to heal through self-expression and I am blessed to embark on this new journey.”

Nayan Raina, Sliding into the Music Industry With His Hit Single Butter

Nayan Raina, Sliding into the Music Industry With His Hit Single Butter

Nayan Raina, Sliding into the Music Industry With His Hit Single Butter

The music industry, one of the toughest industries to sustain because of the increasing competition and variety of singers. Today, every artist who wishes to retain themselves in the music industry needs to bring something new to the table and stand out from the rest. Their tunes and beats ought to be new, unique, and refreshing; anything that is easily distinguishable and catches the attention of the crowd. While many are putting their best to create meaningful music, Nayan Raina is one artist who has successfully managed to make their way into the music industry.

Raina has had his fair share of struggles while starting in the music industry. Just like other artists, Nayan faced rejections and several hindrances during his journey. Luckily, his encounter with John Ho opened doors of opportunity for this emerging star. John Ho is a renowned name in the industry as he has worked with famous artists such as Cody Simpson, Florida, Frank Ocean, Cassie, and Mya. During their first meeting, the two felt an instant connection because of their multi-ethnic musical backgrounds. After that, Raina and Ho met several times to jam together in an attempt to produce top-notch music. As John Ho had the experience of working with A-listed K-Pop artists and knew a lot about the L.A. Hip-Hop scene, he had created a well-structured plan to launch this dynamic personality and his catchy song. As soon as the Butter was created, the duo released it on YouTube, which turned out to be a massive hit. Its sensual video was directed by Nayan Raina himself and Director Damien Sandoval. It was liked a lot by the audience that it quickly made its way to the well-known radio station, KISS FM. The response Raina received on his debut single was surreal and overwhelming. This boosted Nayan’s confidence to create more and songs and allowed him to dream big. Keeping an

Eye on the Price and Not Looking Back

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Brad Belliston Rightfully said, success does not come easy; it is the result of consistent hard work and dedication. Nayan Raina, a determined personality, had set his goal from his early years and wanted to pursue music as his career. To have wider options and an open area to practice his craft, he moved to the States in 1995. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a dream to make it big in the music industry. Initially, Raina jammed with his friends and spent a good few years perfecting his vocals.

Nayan then tried his luck at an American reality T.V. show, “America’s Got Talent.” He performed before celebrity judges Sharon Osbourne, David Hasselhoff, and Piers Morgan. Although he performed really well, he could not pass the entry round. The rejection did not lower his spirits. Instead, it motivated him to keep working on his craft. It was this time was the tables turned for him when he met with John Ho, the major record label producer. His successful debut into the music industry was smooth.

Pumped with the success of his single, Raina gave two back-to-back releases of amazing songs, namely, DrNk TeXtIn and All Night. Both of the singles were well-received by his listeners. Simultaneously, he got himself into a few acting projects as well. Passionate to explore himself in various ways, Nayan Raina has proved himself as an actor too. His work can be seen in movies such as Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World, Havana, On the Roof, Labor Pains, Deadliest Warrior, and Weapon of Mass Destruction.

A versatile person who is capable of taking on any role and proving themselves in it always grabs attention. Raina had successfully established himself as a musician and artist and had garnered attention worldwide. After suffering a personal loss back to back in 2017 and 2018 by losing both of his parents, Nayan Raina took a break from the industry and came back with a bang. His sizzling EP ‘Besame’ featuring four hot singles : Besame, Phone, Closer, and Sex Friend. Not only did he made a powerful comeback, but he managed to get his songs streamed worldwide. His strong presence on social media and music streaming apps has added to his extensive portfolio. Former America’s Got Talent contestant has performed in renowned venues like House of Blues, Conga Room and Whisky a Go Go and has also starred in DrNk TeXtIn music video starring as BEN and his love interest BELLA, a French Spanish Ballerina.

Nayan Raina’s journey as a professional musical artist is truly inspiring. Even after many ups and downs, he has finally established his name in the music industry.

Pablo Sanchez - "Covid-21"

Covid 21 was made by Pablo Sanchez and produced by playwithkey Pablo and keys have worked together and has plenty of hits keys made the beat in 25 minutes and Pablo recorded the song in less than 20 minutes and it’s one of the hottest song on the planet right now!!

Darious Wiggins known professionally as Pablo Sanchez was born to Joyce Collins and Eric Wiggins on June 19, 1994. Born and raised in Columbus, OH, Pablo has always had big dreams of making a rap career for himself.  Growing up, he watched his father rap, so he knew at a young age music was in his blood. Pablo was not always known as Pablo Sanchez. In fact, people who know Pablo personally, know him as Debo. The childhood nickname was given to Pablo by his older cousin Ben, due to Pablo’s fixation with the movie “Friday”. Pablo was also known for his tough demeanor, so the nickname Debo just stuck. The rap name “Pablo Sanchez” originated from a run in with the cops, where he discovered his identify had been stolen by a Mexican man, whose real name was Pablo. During this interaction, Debo was threatened that he was going to be deported, only for the cops to realize it was a mistake. At this time, Debo’s love for music began to resurface, so the rap name Pablo Sanchez seemed fitting.

Growing up on the southside of Columbus, Pablo loved to play football. In fact, football always seemed to be Pablo’s golden ticket out the hood. However, everything took a back seat when his life was tossed upside down, with the loss of his mother at the young age of 10. Pablo and his three sisters were bounced around, forcing them to grow up fast and heavy in the streets. It wasn’t until his Aunt Ann and Grandmother took both him and his younger sister in, giving them stability.

Pablo began rapping again in the 7th grade with his childhood friends, DeLano and B in his aunt’s garage. DeLano was the person who saw the talent in Pablo and encouraged him to rap at a young age and B purchased the first laptop for the studio. Pablo began to take his rap career serious when grandmother and high school sweetheart purchased his first microphone, and studio equipment in 2011. After graduating high school, Pablo took a few wrong turns from selling drugs, to robbing people, to being kicked out of college to going to jail. He knew he had to make a change and start moving different. He started working consistently, making money and putting in work with his music. He dropped his first mixtape, Eat or Starve in the summer of 2012 and by fall of the same year he releases Eat of Starve 2 in November.

Pablo returned to music in 2016, with the drop of his mixtape “Pablo the Perfector”. Since his return, Pablo has dropped multiple videos including “Nevermind Me”, “Darious”, “Kartelz $hit”, and most recently “Settle”. Pablo Sanchez has multiple hits currently brewing, and big plans for the release of his next mixtape “The Kure” with his highlighted feature “Covid 21”. Pablo Sanchez’s flow, delivery and versatility will take him far in this industry. He creates music that uplifts people and motivates others who came from the same struggle. To music for the streets, down to the sexy music for the ladies, to bop music that makes you want to dance. Keep a look out for this upcoming artist!

Visi0n - "Run It Up"

Virginia-based Hip-Hop specialist Visi0n has always put an emphasis on creating unique music that dares to be different. In keeping with this ethos, his latest single, 'Run It Up', once again showcases his signature seasoned flow, and intricate, straight-talking wordplay.

Released on September 17, 2021, the track lands on Twonety 20 ViZion Records, Visi0n's very own imprint on the scene. Produced by SamPeezy, 'Run It Up' is musically defined by a tense, 808-laden trap beat that's carried by snappy drums and Vision's seasoned lyricism.

His vocal powerful palette demands attention, with finely curated lines that speak straight to the listener such as "weak will with no ambition" and "more excuses for the time you wasting" underpinning the motivationally raw, in your face wake up call reminding people that their destiny is their own.

"We’ve all been in a place where we just feel stuck. This song is a reminder that if there’s something you want, only you can go out. Don't rely on anybody else to make your dreams turn into reality."
