Lil Buez makes a commitment with powerful newage banger “The Promise”

Lil Buez makes a commitment with powerful newage banger “The Promise”

Lil Buez makes a commitment with powerful newage banger “The Promise”

A poignant piano progression, moved by melancholic chops, jump-starts Lil Buez “The Promise”. Although, a succession of trap drums does slam into the mix, “The Promise” maintains a tragic ambiance. This air is only fulfilled by the cold breeze of Lil Buez’s auto-tune. The Haitian-born, melodic rapper dives into the depths of his soul on this slow-burning anthem. It takes no more than two minutes and twenty seconds for Lil Buez to completely engulf us in the mistrust, betrayal and living hell of West Palm Beach, Florida. And he does so without breaking a sweat. In a similar vein to Kodak Black and the late XXXtentacion — both stars of The Sunshine State — Lil Buez is a natural at putting his pain on a page. Set a microphone in front of him, and you are bound to feel every word he lays. “The Promise” is a melodious introduction to three other singles Lil Buez plans to drop; as well as an album still in production. After this tranquil, impassioned anthem, we’ll all be waiting with bated breath for the Floridian talent’s next release.

New-age rapper, Guess drops official bedroom anthem "Monsoon"

New-age rapper, Guess drops official bedroom anthem "Monsoon"

New-age rapper, Guess drops official bedroom anthem "Monsoon"

Since the success of Tyga, with his scorching singles “Rack City”, “Faded”, and “Make It Nasty” (of 2011-2012), the hip-hop world has kept an extra set of ears on the strip club. Knowing the impact it will have, the industry is ceaselessly fishing for that next, gargantuan, club-friendly record. From the sound of Guess’s “Monsoon (feat. Payt)”, that search may be coming to an end; with strip clubs across the country crowning a new prince of their sound. For, the Long Beach native’s latest offering is an anthemic venture into the dark space between lust and love. It comes wielding a distinct, Californian bassline; intricate vocal chops, sided by colorful flutes and West-Coast trap drums. Wonderfully, Payt surfs the instrumental gilded in autotune, delivering melodies that perfectly contrasts Guess’s hard-hitting verses. A magic, undeniably, courses through the veins of this record; and it is one that exotic dancers will be hard-pressed to deny. The bounce alone, matched with the duo’s delivery and songwriting, is enough to get any pole wrapped around, and thousands of dollars thrown into the air. Yes, “Monsoon” is a smooth, quintessential, strip-club smash. With a stronger push, it is destined to have every venue lining the West Coast dancing along.

Don Smooth drops new-age trap banger "21 Savage"

Don Smooth drops new-age trap banger "21 Savage"

Repping Spartanburg, South Carolina, rapper Don Smooth’s recent drop, “21 Savage” is a grand-slam of modern, minimal trap music. For two minutes and eleven seconds, you will be warped into a world of turn-up raps and sparse, yet exhilarating percussion. The drum pattern creates this ideal energy for Don Smooth’s lyrics and flow. Between bars regarding his arsenal, and the Spartanburg street life, the southern rapper smoothly bounces along distorted 808s, hi-hats and claps. The absence of a melody leaves plenty of room for Don Smooth to rap circles around his competition; delivering a swift trap anthem. If the music video is of any comparison; throw this record on at your local party, and it is guaranteed to turn the entire room up a notch. Effortlessly, with this new single, “21 Savage”, Don Smooth has put a spotlight on his Spartanburg home. Only a matter of time before the entire state of South Carolina has a new face of trap.
