Dr Greg Shaw uses saxophone to infuse jazz and hiphop on "Block Jazz" ft. Project Pat, Memphis Slim, and BassWorld Music

You have been diagnosed with a mild lack of trillness; yet, have no fear, Tennessee instrumentalist, Dr Greg Shaw, is itching to fill your prescription. Armed with a live saxophone, and some phenomenal, dirty south production, he prescribes you, as well as the rest of us, a dynamic dose of “Block Jazz”. Hosted by Hip-Hop veteran, Project Pat, assisted by the likes of Bassworld Music, and scratched by DJ Memphis Slim, “Block Jazz” is a raw ode to Southern artistry. It borrows all of the powerful, improvised elements of traditional jazz from Shaw’s breathtaking saxophone playing, and marries it with the grimy, 808 production of Memphis trap music. The combination is fiery, yet smooth; with Shaw instrumentally gliding in and out of the beat better than any rapper could fathom. His flow, through that saxophone, is golden, soulful and real; something every block in urban America can embrace. With something as simple as an instrumental, Dr Greg Shaw (accompanied by his fellow musicians) provides an elixir for the streets. The trill healing we’ve all been dying for.
