Zamani Ngidi aka Zee, is a rapper and music producer born in Johannesburg, South Africa – Hailing from his hometown of Benoni, a commonality he shares with Charlize Theron & The Princess of Monaco.

An Insurance Executive at US based financial services juggernaut Aon, Zee penned a distribution deal after discussions with Rel Carter (Jay-Z’s nephew) and following the success of his critically acclaimed mixtape “All Good Things,” the South African born rapper Zee, released his album “Lightwork” through his record label Zee Worldwide, distributed by New York based publishing company, EQ Distro, home to artists such as Ryan Leslie, Kelly Rowland and Tinashe to name a few.

Zee's now followed up with GOAT, collaborating with Michigan Producer Zevahc on his new single, the song already has over a million plays accross all streaming platforms

St Louis rapper Bari released the new visual for "Sosabucks" off his new project, F*@K It Burn It All Down, today. The menacing visual underscores the tracks turbulent soundscape. F*@K It Burn It All Down is available everywhere now, watch the video here.

On the new project, the St. Louis spitter raps over complex and intoxicating production from the likes of Prodxvzn, Monte Booker, Blake Wright and more. The 18 track offering highlights resilience, ambition, and a passion for life. On the project, Bari explains, “when you’re at the crossroads of life sometimes a fresh start is needed. I had my back against the wall, coming off an uncontrollable label situation it was mandatory that I prevailed. Burn It All Down is a body of work that leaves behind what I once thought to be chains confining me. Those powers, everything holding you back, you just have to say F*@k It Burn It All Down!”

At the age of three St. Louis transplant, Bari was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, a neuromuscular disease-causing weakness and rapid fatigue. Two years later his parents separated, and his father moved to LA. Bari found solace in music. He remembers his mother playing Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, and California Love on repeat. But It wasn’t until his father introduced him to JayZ that he really began to see music differently. In high school, Bari consciously flunked out. He then attended Hazelwood Central his sophomore year where he met Chris Smith Jr. aka Smino, and began making music together. The two worked on music together through college, when they attended Columbia College. In 2014, Bari moved back to St. Louis, quit his job, had his first son, and devoted himself to music full-time. Frequenting Chicago and LA to work on his craft, Bari eventually released his debut project, MSTRGLSS, in 2019, with three additional EPs and a slew of singles after that leading to his new release,  F*@k It Burn It All Down.

Davery Ezell Joseph, better known as Blakk Gawd is the definition of an independent artist. Born in San Diego, California and raised in Slidell, Louisiana Blakk has cultivated a sound in rap that is made just for him. Since the age of fourteen Blakk has been fascinated with hip hop culture. Inspired by rappers like Wale, Jcole, and Nipsey Hussle, Blakk Gawd has adopted the metaphorical word play within his rap lyrics. Now settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado Blakk Gawd has been making sure his name is present on the rap scene. 

When multiple singles out and two independent albums titled,”Loki” and “Blakk Bianchi” Blakk Gawd has definitely been busy making sure his fans have more than enough music to listen to and learn from. Blakk Gawd’s single “Fressh Fressh” featuring PrettyMF, another local rapper based out of Colorado Springs has gained more 168,000 streams on Spotify alone and 100,000 views on Youtube for the official music video. Now Blakk is back with another banger titled,”Dream”. The concept for this single was to expose the purpose of living your life to fullest. To chase your dreams and be happy doing so regardless of how society may take it.

Southwest is a 16 track album from Chicago based artists Lil Chris and the late FBG Duck. Originally scheduled to release on September 14th 2020, the date was pushed back due to the untimely demise of collaborating artist FBG Duck. To pay tribute to the late rapper, 7 of FBG Duck's songs were released to the public. They were received with positive reviews and only added to the excitement of the fans for the upcoming project. Upon its release on Nov 30th 2020, Southwest charted at #50 on USA Hip-hop/Rap Itunes Charts. This success was welcome but not unforeseen due to the fanfare both artists possess. The chemistry of both artists shines throughout the album as well as their reflections on their respective life struggles and stories.

Looking back at both artists' lives, it is hardly a surprise that their sound holds a lot of meaning, influence, and flavor.

Christopher Ward, a.k.a Lil Chris, and Carlton D. Weekly, a.k.a FBG Duck first met in Chicago's bustling music scene back in 2015. Both artists were on their musical journeys, with Lil Chris producing music in his own home music studio. FBG Duck made the most of this partnership as they started having joint recording sessions and made well over 50 songs as a duet, not to mention the other 200+ plus they wrote and produced.

Lil Chris has seen his own bumps on the road as he was raised in a packed household and dropped out of high school to pave his own way. According to him, he was raised in a neighborhood that was teeming with violence and drugs. Despite these negatives, he was able to focus on his music and craft his own sound.

FBG Duck had a similar life path that was related to gangs and violence. This never stopped him from reaching new heights, especially with his hit single 'Slide' that reached over 53 Million Views on Youtube. Sadly, the artist passed away on August 4, 2020, and never saw the success of a project he worked hard on.

Mayne (born Jamel Swain) is an American rapper, songwriter, and poet born in Mississippi, raised in Maryland and spent time servicing in the Marine Corps. The military veteran, poet and recording artist seen his share of struggle growing up in a single parent household; however, he always tried to make decisions based on family values that would benefit those around him as well as himself. Mayne would like to think of himself as being very knowledgeable to many styles of music and listens to a lot of different genres which brought him to the realization that all forms of music has an energy connected and speaks through that connection. Mayne is original and consider his music to be a new wave and thrives off trying to bring back an element within hip-hop that’s rarely heard today. He believes his music is necessary and is what the people have been unknowingly waiting for, and if it’s not his music to shuffle in this new age it is the energy that’s growing and is waiting to be heard. It’s spiritual.
