Grammy-nominated North Carolina singer-songwriter BeMyFiasco and acclaimed Finnish producer-artist Misha unveil Aura Gold, a radiant cross-continental EP that proves great music is truly borderless. The project, crafted between North Carolina and Finland, is a richly layered tapestry of 70s funk and disco, 90s R&B and hip-hop, Afrobeats, Amapiano, and modern soul, resulting in a luminous, globally-infused sound rooted in radical honesty, courage, and love in all its messy, unapologetic forms.

BeMyFiasco and producer Misha, two artists from very different worlds, met the way modern musical soulmates often do: online. Their partnership echoes the legacy of The Foreign Exchange, where Phonte and Nicolay bridged continents to create timeless music rooted in trust and shared vision. More than twenty years later, BeMyFiasco began a similar journey from the same North Carolina soil, this time trading emails and ideas with Misha, ultimately leading her to Finland to create in community with local musicians. What emerged from this project was a shared language.
Title track “Aura Gold” opens the project with a cinematic, disco-kissed statement.Inspired by the shimmer of the 70s – sequins, platform shoes, and unapologetic flair – the song leans into joy and simplicity. Produced by Misha, the track blends R&B, afrobeat, and disco into a vibrant, feel-good flow. Finnish R&B/jazz composer-keyboardist Jussi Halme brings lush harmonic depth, while long-time collaborator cocabona anchors the song with a fluid bassline. Ville-Veikko Ijäs adds funky guitar riffs that drift between soul and dancefloor. Background vocals from Finnish R&B and soul powerhouses Heini Ikonen and Jepa Lambert wrap around the lead like a glowing halo, amplifying the song’s message of softness and strength. Funky, fun, and endlessly performative, it’s the EP’s centerpiece.
“Burning Fire” leans into Afrobeats and Amapiano pulses, capturing the heat of inevitable, all-consuming desire and the forward motion of passionate love too potent to ignore. Paired with “Kind of Love,” the EP offers two sides of the same emotional coin: sweet and spicy. “Kind of Love” is tender, reflective, and intimate, honoring the softer moments of a budding romance and the safety found in emotional connection. At the emotional center sits “Back to Myself.” Featuring cocabona on bass and his brother Ville-Veikko on guitar, the track represents choosing authenticity over expectationafter living in performance mode. “Love Come Down” feels like a slow, grounded surrender, letting love meet you where you are and choosing trust over fear. Closing the EP is “Can’t Get Enough,” a rich, sensual celebration of abundance found in love, joy, and creative freedom elevated by Finnish Jazz/R&B keyboardist Jussi Halme and Grammy award–winning saxophonist Jemarcus Bridges.
