Scott Thompson has recently announced an upcoming release: “Stella”

December 2022 - Scott Thompson has just dropped a new single, “Stella.” The track strikes for its glitchy, yet atmospheric ambiance, which is experimental, but soothing and immersive at the same time.

Scott is the kind of artist who loves to bring a broader dimension to his music, and he is definitely not about to compromise his artistry and craft. “Stella” is a relatively short, yet in-depth piece of music that falls along the lines of artists such as Flying Lotus, Four Tet, and Apparat. Even though it falls under the 2-minute mark, the song still retains a one-of-a-kind personal sound and distinctive flavor, which will definitely not let you down as a listener, especially if you like electronic music with a more sophisticated and introspective flow. Scott stands out for the emotion that he puts into his compositions, and the upfront blend of energy and sounds is truly something you don’t see every day.

Check out Scott Thompson’s music and do not miss out on “Stella”, which is going to be available on the web’s best listening outlets and streaming services from December 16th, 2022.

We also had the chance to ask the artist a few questions: keep reading for more!

I love how you manage to render your tracks so personal and organic. Does the melody come first, or do you focus on the beat the most?

Answer: This is a hard question; songs that start with a drum beat before the melody kicks in have a special place in my heart. With that said, it really depends on my mood when I'm writing! Sometimes I'lI start with the beat, sometimes I start with the melody.

Do you perform live? If so, do you feel more comfortable on a stage or within the walls of the recording studio?

Answer: Currently, I have yet to perform live; but as much as I'd love to put on a show for the audience, I feel like recording in a studio would be more comfortable for me. I'm a very anxious person, so stage fright would definitely be something for me to consider when playing live.

If you could only pick one song to make a "first impression" on a new listener, which song would you pick and why?

Answer: My debut single, 'stella', may be the song I'd pick for a first impression, but I have many really great projects in the works!

What does it take to be "innovative" in music?

Answer: I believe that innovation in music is creating a product that's unlike anything that anybody has heard before. Innovation could be ones' production style, or it could be someone’s overall sound.

Any upcoming release or tour your way?

Answer: I have many songs planned that I feel sound really amazing; I have a collaboration in the works with my music partner, 'Saint Austin' (@welovesaintaustin on Instagram), so that's something to be on the lookout for!

About the Artist:

Hailing from Southwest Florida, Scott Thompson is an accomplished producer, artist, and co-founder of the underground label "bønesincali." Scott’s first experiences with music go back to age 11; but his music journey began in November 2021, under the name "Recluse," with the release of an eight-track lofi beat-tape named "White Peonies," followed by the releases of "Breakfast in Bed," "RAINMAN," and "The Ends of the Earth (Vol. 1)." What sets him apart from other producers is the fact that Scott can build something from virtually nothing. Reversed guitar and piano melodies are the hallmark of his production strategy and can turn any boring sample into an astounding performance. The release of "Cold Winter Nights" in April 2022 defined the future of Scott Thompson and his music partner, Austin Bryant’s musical careers. The track encompassed a nostalgia-packed sound. Along with collaborator Blackgod, a premium mixture of R&B and anti-pop was concocted. Inspired by the works of Aries and Joji, Scott would go on to produce captivating anti-pop instrumentals. Though typically focusing on alternative pop music, Scott Thompson enjoys venturing through music, leading him to the creation of genre-bending tracks. The December 2022 release of "stella" marks a fresh start for Scott Thompson. With all previous releases archived, he plans to restart with a clean slate, leaving his sights high and his future bright.
