Fresh Mind & Carpe Williams - "Space Lunch"

Space Lunch is the new single by London rapper Fresh Mind and D.C’s Carpe Williams. Harking back to early 2000’s UK hip hop acts like Task Force and Jehst, it was written and recorded in Sacred Valley Peru at the start of 2020’s global quarantine. Fusing elements of unmistakable UK Hip Hop with east coast American flair, the pan-atlantic duo collaborated with UK producer Temper to create a raw and ready track booming with analogue fuzz: a definitively sci-fi revival of old skool abstract jazz-rap.

Fresh Mind started off spitting bars in the underground rave scene in the early 2010’s before performing at and organising hip hop events in London alongside members of the emerging UK Hip Hop and Jazz scenes, and in Brighton alongside acts like RA and the Basement Flat Collective. Fresh met Carpe in 2017 whilst in a sustainability institute in the heart of the rainforest of Panama, and the duo have collaborated on a number of releases and performances since then, working with producers Kayobe and Tenki. Space Lunch is the first track to be released ahead of their upcoming EP.
