5 TV shows to binge on in October #DontSleep

#1 MANHUNT: UNABOMBER

Its amazing how true stories are the most entertaining. Discovery Channel's series is by far the best thing I've binged on this month. The show has a artful way of showing the destruction of the Unabomber in the 90's. He was the serial killer who creatively killed his victims by sending bombs through the mail to make a statement about society. The show is focused around the decade long manhunt, following a new FBI profiler who plans to bring him to justice by analyzing UNABOM's published manuscript.

#2 GET SHORTY

Here's a twisted crime comedy that originates from the big screen movies "Get Shorty" and "Be Cool" starring John Travolta. While the show has some of the same great dark twisted comedy of the movies, "Get Shorty" series is its own entity with its own story. Based around a charming Las Vegas goon with an Irish accent, who is looking for a way out, the show gets better with every episode! With the 1st couple shows he extorts and murders his way into the Hollywood movie scene with hope to wash his cartel boss' millions by making a big budget movie. This shit is nuts!!!

#3 STAR TREK: DISCOVERY

I'm not a "trek-ky" at all. Star Trek has always been around and always seemed extra corny to me. However, I decided that I'd give the new one a chance. "Discovery" really delivers as writers and directors approach from a fresh perspective. The story's time is set before the other series, sort of like a prequel. It follows the actress who plays Sasha in "Walking Dead". She commands the screen as she goes rouge on the 1st episode and is feared/respected from then on. Watch amazing views of the cosmos, new technologies and sinister inter-galactic war plots. What attracts you to "Discover" is its dark underbelly that the other Star Trek series didn't have.

#4 ATYPICAL

Just when you thought this subject wouldn't be funny... Here comes an extra qwerky coming-of-age comedy about a highschool boy with Autism. Which means although very book-smart, his condition hinders him from understanding or interacting normally to any social situations. The series follows Sam as he tries so hard to give his love-life a makeover. All credit goes to the director and writers as they allow us to understand Sam's 100% lack of sarcasm and his pet peves, then they show him in hilarious situations that would required such social skills. At times you feel sad for Sam, but mostly you'll be laughing. Shit is hilarious!!

#5 FAUDA

I always looking for the best action-packed TV shows, wherever they are. "Fauda" takes us to the conflict in the Middle East. It follows an Israeli special ops team that is dead set on hunting down the leader of a Palestinian terror cell before they can do anymore damage. The show does not choose sides. It displays strong stories from both the Israeli and Palestinian sides as both sides play dirty. Get ready for club bombings, car chases down Gaza, crying widows, kidnappings, suicide vests and undercover agents. It's lit!
